 THE 2005 SOUTH EAST ASIAN GAMES HELD AT THE PHILIPPINES INTRODUCES A NEW PROGRAM TO THE WORLD OF SPORTS, WHICH IS THE COUNTRY'S NATIONAL SPORT, ARNIS. THE FILIPINO MARTIAL ARTS WAS HELD ON DECEMBER 1 TO DECEMBER 4, 2005 AT THE EMILIO AGUINALDO COLLEGE GYMNASIUM IN ERMITA, MANILA.

ARNIS WAS INTRODUCED ALSO IN 1991's SOUTH EAST ASIAN GAMES AS A MEANS OF DEMONSTRATION SPORT.

THUS, THE RESULT OF 2005 SOUTH EAST ASIAN GAMES IN THE EVENT OF ARNIS WAS RELEASED IN WHICH BOTH PHILIPPINES AND VIETNAM TIED AT 3 GOLD MEDALS AND 3 SILVER MEDALS EACH. THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES ARE EAST TIMOR WITH 3 BRONZE MEDALS AND THE KINGDOM OF CAMBODIA WITH 2 BRONZE MEDALS.
